Mark Toppen joined Pollart Miller LLC in 2018 after graduating from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. He represents employers, insurance carriers and self-insured in defending workers’ compensation claims.
While in law school, Mr. Toppen gained valuable advocacy experience working for the Denver District Attorney’s Office, obtaining successful outcomes in motion hearings and jury trials. He also spent time at the FBI Denver Field Office working on white-collar criminal investigations, human trafficking, and civil rights violations. Prior to the FBI, he clerked for a large private company and a county attorney’s office, gaining exposure to a variety of transactional matters. Additionally, Mr. Toppen was an Associate Editor for the Denver Law Review. His article, Colorado v. McKnight & The Evolution of “Search” Jurisprudence in the State of Colorado, was recently published by the Denver Law Review Online.
Before starting law school, Mr. Toppen worked in marketing for an international non-profit focused on child advocacy. He graduated from Auburn University in 2011 with a BA in political science.
